Release Date: TBA 2002/2003 (November, 2002 seems one possibility, since the first two films were released in that month in 1998 and 2000, but Paramount hasn't officially announced a date yet; one thing that puts the date in question is which comes first: this or The Wild Thornberrys?)
Title Note: If the first two are any indication, the title of this may be something like Rugrats the Movie: Rescue Me.
MPAA Rating: Nothing's official until the MPAA sees the final cut, but it's extremely likely to get a G, since the first two did.
Distributor: Paramount Pictures
Production Companies: Klasky-Csupo, Nickelodeon Pictures (Rugrats in Paris, The Wild Thornberrys)
Cast (Voices): Jodi Carlisle (Marianne Thornberry), Christine Cavanaugh (Chuckie), Lacey Chabert (Eliza Thornberry), Melanie Chartoff (Didi Pickles), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Tim Curry (Nigel Thornberry), Elizabeth Daily (Tommy Pickles), Flea (Donnie Thornberry), Danielle Harris (Debbie Thornberry), Tom Kane (Darwin), Jack Riley (Stu Pickles), Kath Soucie (Phil & Lil)
Cast Note: The above is basically a combo of the voice cast of central Rugrats and Wild Thornberrys characters. We can expect that there will be other characters.
Director: Not announced yet.
Screenwriter: Kate Boutilier (The Wild Thornberrys; cowriter of Rugrats in Paris)
Based upon: This is, of course, the third film in the popular series based on the Nickelodeon animated series, following 2000's Rugrats in Paris: The Movie. This film also introduces The Wild Thornberrys, also based on a Nickelodeon series, to the big screen, leading up to their own movie all by themselves. There will probably eventually be a Rugrats 4 as well.
Premise: The Rugrats go out on an exotic adventure (possibly in a jungle?), where they're helped by the Thornberrys, a family that travels the world making nature documentaries, whose daughter Eliza (Chabert) can actually talk to animals... the title suggests that there will be some sort of rescue effort.
Filming: The exact production start date isn't known, but it's expected to be sometime in the first half of 2001 (in other words, it may have already started; I don't know).
Genres: Kids, Comedy, Animated, Sequel, TV Show

Also at Theaters: 2002
Release Date: Fall, 2003 (probably November, matching the releases of the first two)
Title Note: (10/3/01) When this project was announced, it was titled Rugrats 3: Rescue Me. (2/6/02) That is still being used as a working title by some sources. (5/6/02) This hasn't been confirmed yet, but a fan of the site wrote in to say that the title might be The Rugrats Go Wild (which makes sense, considering the crossover).

Based upon: This is, of course, the third film in the popular series based on the Nickelodeon animated series, following 2000's Rugrats in Paris: The Movie. This film also ties the franchise in to The Wild Thornberrys, also based on a Nickelodeon series, which makes the jump to the big screen in their own movie in 2002 . There will probably eventually be a Rugrats 4 as well. (10/3/01) There are online rumors that the fourth film may feature the kids in their "All Grown Up" version seen in the last episode of the 2000-2001 TV season. Given the two year spacing thus far, we might expect Rugrats 4 in 2004.

Filming: (10/3/01) The exact production start date isn't known, but it's probably already started, like probably sometime earlier this year.
